Photographing small fasteners is tough and tedious. Some are very tiny, and some are quite beautiful. It's important to label the part with the correct part number. I shoot them with the number first, then photograph them separately afterwards, that way I can reference the film, er….digital file….to find the right number for the right part.
A Raymond Tinnerman makes a lot of photogenic parts. If you have a good macro lens, you can make fasteners look great. Keep the light natural, use reflectors and a steady tripod…that's all you need to get a good shot of a tiny fastener.
